The Shenandoah series of Martin guitars, were built from 1983 to 1996 by the Martin Co. in Japan, and then returned to Nazareth for finish and final assembly, creating a VERY close counterpart to their fully American made cousins. Japanese guitars from that era and slightly before are often known to be well built and really good sounding, and this one is no exception! In fact, you will find that this particular guitar is about as good sounding of a guitar most folks could want! This one is loud and really responsive, and also has a factory installed undersaddle pickup. For a 40 year old guitar, it has aged very well and is still in really good condition. It has some honest play wear, but nothing extensive to mention. No repairs to be noted other than a Mitchell's plate mate to mitigate a worn bridge plate. Nice low action and although the saddle is slightly on the lower side, it is not in need of a neck reset. It has a solid spruce top with laminated rosewood back and sides and a fairly hefty v shaped neck with a 1 11/16" nut width. It also has the molded black and copper velvet lined Martin factory hardshell case.
