1968 Martin D-28
1968 Martin D-28
1968 was only a year before Martin discontinued the use of the highly coveted Brazilian rosewood in their guitars. This particular one also has the small maple bridge plate which was also discontinued until the mid 80's. This one is in very good to excellent condition and has quite the voice, with thunderous bass and clear highs making it very well suited for flatpicking and responds surprisingly well to fingerpicking too. Repairs include a previous neck reset, reglued bridge and pickguard and is crack free outside a hairline pickguard crack that has been glued and is stable. All in all, this is about a fine of an example of a Brazilian D-28 you will come across, especially at this price point. Comes with an original/period hardshell that is also in great condition.
