SOLD 1950 Gibson J-45
SOLD 1950 Gibson J-45
The FON dates this one to a ‘50 although most of us haven’t seen a rectangular bridge on later than ’49 model guitars.
The guitar was recently restored by Allen Williams of Baruke Guitars in Gainesville, GA. This one was in a bit of despair when it came to us, but with some painstaking work Allen has it as solid as the day it rolled off the line. Most importantly, this one has the volume and tone to match its crazy amounts of mojo! Repairs are as follows, check and reglue all loose braces, replace all 4 back braces, new marriage strips, neck reset, new Brazilian bridge w/new saddle, repair/cleat top crack, reglue pickguard, partial re-fret, and new Golden Age restoration tuners. The top crack looks worse than it is, as it shows glue residue from a previous repair attempt, but is very solid now. It has a couple other very minor cracks on the back that he top-glued just to be safe. $7950.00 plus applicable taxes and or fees.
